Nursery

The nursery is the baby’s first contact with school and therefore this stage requires warmth, safety, and stimuli appropriate to their development.

At Colleman, we combine affectionate care with the introduction of bilingualism from the earliest years of life, taking advantage of the phase when the brain is most receptive to new languages. Daily contact with a second language happens naturally, playfully, and through the senses, fostering not only communication but also cognitive, motor, and social-emotional development...

Caring in Every Way

For us, the child is at the center of learning.

Welcoming and the involvement of families and educators in the educational process are treated by Colleman

as a core value and are essential to building the bond between child and educator.

Our Educational References

Inspired by international references such as Finland and based on scientific research on learning and human development, the Colleman Methodology prepares students for the challenges of the 21st century with an innovative, personalized, and student-focused approach.

It is supported by five fundamental pillars:

Active learning – the student is the protagonist, building knowledge in a practical and meaningful way.

Personalization – teaching adapted to each student’s needs and learning styles.

Socio-emotional skills – development of competencies such as critical thinking, creativity, empathy, leadership, communication, and self-management.

Educational technology – digital resources that enhance learning and bring students and teachers closer.

Collaboration and formative assessment – learning built together, with continuous assessments, constant feedback, and personalized review roadmaps, ensuring progress throughout the process.

Bilingual Education in the Nursery

The first years of life are when a baby’s brain is most open to stimuli. In this period, learning a second language happens naturally, simply, and spontaneously.

At the Colleman Nursery, bilingualism is introduced in a playful and caring way through songs, stories, games, and everyday interactions. In this way, the baby not only becomes familiar with two languages from early on, but also develops:

• Greater cognitive capacity and memory

Ease of communication in the future

Stimulated creativity and problem-solving

Greater cultural and social sensitivity

At Colleman, bilingualism starts from the cradle, preparing each child for an increasingly connected world.

How the Nursery Works

Every detail is designed to ensure the baby’s well-being and holistic development. We combine safety, affectionate care, and a structured routine with bilingual stimuli that make learning natural from the very first years of life.

100% English immersion all the time

From the earliest years, students have continuous contact with English in all interactions throughout the day. This natural immersion ensures the second language is acquired spontaneously and consistently, preparing them to communicate with confidence in any context.

Image

Full-time nurse

We have a dedicated nurse who monitors the children’s well-being throughout the entire school day. She performs essential care, such as changing diapers and sanitizing bottles, ensuring safety, hygiene, and peace of mind for families.

Image

Nutritionist in charge

A specialized nutritionist oversees students’ diets, planning balanced menus and recording daily reports in the digital agenda. This way, parents can closely follow the eating routine and be sure their children are well cared for.

Camera monitoring

For greater transparency and safety, the school’s environments are monitored by cameras. This measure provides peace of mind to families and reinforces our commitment to students’ integrity and well-being.

Preparing to be a global citizen

From the nursery onward, we encourage values, skills, and experiences that prepare children to become global citizens, able to connect, respect, and transform the world around them.

How many children are in the room?

Up to 18 children, as we have 3 professionals in the room (pedagogue, nurse, and monitor).

Do I need to send the formula?

Yes, we ask families to send the correct dosage, clearly labeled, as the nurse will administer it.

Do babies play in the nursery’s outdoor area?

Yes, babies play in the Early Childhood Education outdoor spaces, always accompanied by professionals and monitors, with great care and attention.

How does the adaptation period work?

The adaptation period is gradual and respects each child’s pace. Parents are partners in this process and may accompany the first days, ensuring the student’s emotional security.

How do you communicate with families?

We use a digital communication platform to share daily records, photos, notices, and pedagogical reports, keeping parents always close to school life.
